The Delhi government has unveiled a new digital platform — the ‘School Web App’ — aimed at transforming the education system, streamlining administration, and fostering stronger connections between schools and parents.
The single integrated platform is designed to make school operations smarter, more transparent, and accessible, in line with India’s broader digital transformation goals.
Empowering Schools and Parents Alike
The School Web App will enable schools to manage academic and administrative functions through a unified interface. One of its standout features is real-time communication with parents, who will now receive regular updates on their child’s academic progress, attendance, and performance.
Officials highlighted that the platform will also help reduce paperwork and improve time management for teachers, allowing them to focus more on the learning process rather than administrative burdens.
Aligned with Digital India and NEP 2020
During the launch, Education Minister Ashish Sood emphasized that the initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Digital India and Viksit Bharat 2047.
He stated,
“The new School Web App will not only modernise the education system but also encourage innovation and entrepreneurial thinking among students by making learning resources more accessible.”
Sood further added that the app is in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, promoting skill-based learning, technology integration, and student participation in programs under the Fit India initiative.
Simplifying School Management
The Delhi government’s education department has been working to digitally integrate student and school data for better efficiency. With this web app, administrators can manage attendance records, performance reports, and activity tracking in one place.
This step is expected to improve transparency, accountability, and efficiency across the public education system in Delhi, setting a model for other states to follow.
