The newly launched Firozpur Cantt–New Delhi Vande Bharat Express will begin its commercial operations on Tuesday, November 11, offering a faster and more comfortable travel option between Punjab and the national capital.

The train, flagged off last week by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Varanasi, is the latest addition to Indian Railways’ semi-high-speed Vande Bharat network, connecting key northern cities with enhanced comfort and safety features.

 Firozpur–Delhi Vande Bharat Train Route & Stoppages

The Train No. 22478 (New Delhi–Firozpur Cantt) and 22477 (Firozpur Cantt–New Delhi) will operate six days a week, except Thursday, covering a total distance of approximately 385 km in around 6 hours.

Bathinda Junction

Mansa

Jind Junction

Rohtak Junction

New Delhi

The route connects key industrial and agricultural hubs of Punjab and Haryana, improving connectivity for both business and leisure travelers.

Train No. 22477 (Firozpur–New Delhi):

Departure: 5:00 AM from Firozpur Cantt

Arrival: 10:55 AM at New Delhi

Train No. 22478 (New Delhi–Firozpur):

Departure: 4:30 PM from New Delhi

Arrival: 10:25 PM at Firozpur Cantt

The train will maintain an average speed of 70–75 km/h, making it one of the fastest options on the corridor.

Chair Car (CC): ₹1,050

Officials said the new service would reduce travel time by nearly two hours compared to the existing Shatabdi Express.

“The Firozpur–Delhi Vande Bharat will play a major role in regional economic integration and passenger convenience,” a Railway Board official said.
