Good Bad Ugly box office collection Say 2: Ajith Kumar’s films have largely steered clear of typical commercial cinema trends over the past decade. However, back on the big screen, Ajith has turned the clock to satisfy his core fans with Good Bad Ugly, directed by Adhik Ravichandran. As per the Mythri Movie Makers, the film made Rs 30.9 crores in Tamil Nadu alone, marking the biggest opening of Ajith’s career.

The film has collected Rs 13.5 crore on Day 2 as per the report given by trade website Sacnilk. Interestingly, Ajith’s previous film Vidaamuyarchi, which released the screens in February this year, opened to Rs 26 crore on Day 1 and dropped down to Rs 10.25 crore on Day 2. However, unlike the Magizh Thirumeni directorial which earned critical acclaim but failed to get the same response at the box office, Good Bad Ugly appears to have ticked the latter box with much gusto, delivering results with great enthusiasm.

The film is a festive release, hoping to capitalise on a long weekend and a public holiday on Monday, which might break a few records. Good Bad Ugly’s present domestic collection stands at Rs 42.75 crore, while it has a dip on Day 2 (Friday). It is expected to get an uptick in collections over the weekend and enter the Rs 100 crore club by the end of the holiday season.

The film recorded an impressive 50.64% occupancy for its Tamil version, with evening and night shows performing exceptionally at 52.99% and 73.91%, respectively. Good Bad Ugly has gained the position of the top 5 highest-earning Tamil films of 2025 in just 2 days. It has already surpassed the box office earnings of Vikram’s Veera Dheera Sooran, which was released a few weeks ago. The only movies recently ahead of Good Bad Ugly are Madha Gaja Raja, Vidaamuyarchi, and Dragon.

Dragon recently celebrated its successful 50-day run as the highest-grossing Tamil film of the year. The film has collected Rs 83.66 crore in the domestic market and is expected that Good Bad Ugly will easily cross this figure. Globally, Good Bad Ugly had a decent showing, and it became the highest-grossing film for Ajith in the United Kingdom and Malaysia.

In the coming weeks, the film has no competition at the Tamil box office until the release of Sundar C’s Gangers on April 24 and Suriya’s Retro on May 1. Good Bad Ugly is facing rigid competition from the Malayalam releases of the week, Mammootty’s Bazooka, Naslen’s Alappuzha Gymkhana, and Basil Joseph’s Maranamass. Meanwhile, Ajith’s creativity is pulling in solid numbers from Kerala, with a decent 48% occupancy in the primary centers of Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.
