Harry Chandler, a Navy medic who survived the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor, passed away at the age of 103 on December 30, 2024, in Tequesta, Florida. On that fateful day, Chandler was a hospital corpsman 3rd class, raising the flag at a mobile hospital in Aiea Heights when Japanese planes began their assault. He immediately sprang into action, rescuing injured sailors from the oil-covered waters, demonstrating remarkable bravery and dedication.

After the war, Chandler worked as a painter and upholsterer and served in the Navy reserves, retiring as a senior chief in 1981. He is survived by two daughters, nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. His passing leaves only 15 survivors of the Pearl Harbor attack on Oahu.
