Your PF account number, also known as your EPF Member ID, is required for checking your PF balance, transferring PF, updating KYC, and filing withdrawals.
If you don’t remember your PF number or never received it from your employer, there are several easy ways to find it.

Here is the complete, simple guide to check your PF account number.

1. Check Your PF Number on Your Salary Slip

Most companies print PF details on salary slips.

You will find labels such as:

PF No

EPF No

Member ID

Establishment ID

This is the quickest and most reliable method.

2. Check PF Number Using the UAN Member Portal

If your UAN is activated, you can view all your PF numbers here.

Steps:

Visit the UAN Member Portal

Login using UAN + password

Go to View β†’ Service History

Your PF account numbers (Member IDs) will appear

This works for current and previous employers.

3. Check PF Account Number on the UMANG App

If your UAN is linked with your mobile:

Steps:

Open UMANG App

Select EPFO

Choose View Passbook

Login using UAN + OTP

Your PF account number is displayed at the top of the passbook

4. Ask Your Employer (HR or Payroll)

Your HR department always has your:

PF Number

UAN

PF Joining Date

Establishment Code

You can email or message the HR team to get your PF Member ID instantly.

5. Retrieve PF Number Through Aadhaar (If Linked)

If you linked Aadhaar with EPFO, you can retrieve UAN and PF number:

Steps:

Visit UAN Portal β†’ Know Your UAN

Enter Aadhaar number

Verify via OTP

Your UAN appears

Login β†’ Go to Service History β†’ Your PF numbers show up

6. Use Previous PF Passbooks

If you downloaded your PF passbook earlier, the PF Member ID is printed on the first page and in each transaction record.
