Indian airlines are gearing up to operate 5.5% more flights during the upcoming summer season, indicating a positive trajectory in the nation's aviation sector. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has approved the summer schedule, which will see airlines operating a total of 25,309 weekly departures, up from 23,907 in the previous season.

Air India plans a significant 9.2% boost, scheduling 2,725 weekly departures. Other carriers, including SpiceJet and Vistara, have also announced modest increases in their flight operations. This expansion is expected to enhance connectivity between tier-2 and tier-3 cities, aligning with the government's regional connectivity scheme.
