Interview | Vishnu Vishal Feels Pressure After Naming Next Film Aaryan After His Son: “Need It to Do Well at Any Cost”

Vizzve Admin

In a candid interview with Hindustan Times, actor-producer Vishnu Vishal discussed the personal and professional pressure he’s experiencing after naming his upcoming thriller Aaryan after his son.

Naming the Film After His Son

Vishnu explains that when he first heard the story of Aaryan, he proposed naming the film after his son, Aryan. What began as a confident choice quickly became a heavier responsibility.

“I asked my director if we could change the title to my son’s name … Naming the film after my son made me emotionally connected. But now I feel the pressure of making it a hit.”

He emphasised that the title is not just a sentimental gesture—it’s symbolic within the film’s premise too. The added dimension, he says, “makes me want this to work at any cost.”

Avoiding Comparisons & Setting a Distinct Tone

Vishnu noted that his previous successful thriller Ratsasan casts a long shadow over any new project in the genre. To avoid being pigeon-holed or unfairly compared, he consciously marketed Aaryan as “not Ratsasan”.

He admitted:

“Whenever I do a thriller, it gets compared to Ratsasan. But I wanted to give the audience a different experience this time around, and I think Aaryan is just that.”

Industry Support and the Vegan of Competition

The actor-producer spoke about how breaking through in Kollywood (Tamil cinema) has been a challenge, even after delivering hits. He referenced the difficulty in getting producers on board and the comparatively slower recognition he received

Vishnu added:

“This is a vast jungle that has space for everyone … I just think I should’ve been supported more in my initial days.”

What this Means for Aaryan

With Aaryan set for release on 31 October 2025, according to production details, expectations are high Naming the film after his son has intensified Vishnu’s personal investment in the project—it’s not just about a commercial success, but validating his belief in the story, title choice and his role as producer-actor.
