It’s Fake: DK Shivakumar Denies Viral ‘Word Power’ Post Amid Indian National Congress Karnataka Power Rift

Vizzve Admin

In the midst of growing tensions within the Congress in Karnataka, a cryptic post — stating “Word power is world power” — circulated widely on social media, attributed to DK Shivakumar. The post came at a moment when speculation about a leadership change — possibly replacing incumbent Siddaramaiah as Chief Minister — was intensifying.

In the post’s message, the text went: “The biggest force in the world is to keep one’s word. … Those standing at the back don’t know the value of the chair.” Many interpreted this as a pointed reminder of a rumored 2023 power-sharing deal that allegedly promised Shivakumar the top post halfway through the term.

Denial: Shivakumar Calls It Fake

However, hours after the post went viral, DK Shivakumar categorically denied sharing the message. He claimed he “had not posted anything.”
Despite the denial, the post remains visible on his social-media handle, leaving many to question whether the original was deleted, or if a misattributed or manipulated image is being circulated.

This is not the first time manipulated content has targeted Shivakumar. Earlier in November 2025, a fake video — showing him allegedly pushing Siddaramaiah — was circulated and prompted a police FIR under charges including forgery and incitement.

Given these precedents, the “word power” image’s authenticity remains contested, prompting many fact-checkers and observers to treat it with skepticism.

Political Context: Why It Matters

The post emerged just after the state government completed the halfway mark of its five-year term on 20 November 2025 — a moment when rumours of a rotational chief-ministership resurfaced.

Supporters of Shivakumar claim there was an informal agreement in 2023 that he would take over as Chief Minister after two and a half years. They view the message as a reminder of that pledge.

On the other hand, proponents of Siddaramaiah deny any such deal exists. The party high command, including Mallikarjun Kharge, has said the final decision will come only after internal discussion — casting further doubt on the authenticity and intention behind the viral post.
