Jawan Killed in Udhampur Encounter Two Days After Pahalgam Attack

Tragedy struck again in Jammu and Kashmir as an Indian Army jawan lost his life during a fierce encounter with militants in the Udhampur district, merely two days after the deadly Pahalgam terror attack. Security officials confirmed that the encounter took place during a combing operation launched following intelligence inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
The operation, which began late Tuesday night, escalated into an intense gunfight early Wednesday morning. According to officials, the jawan sustained critical injuries and later succumbed during treatment. The identity of the slain jawan is being withheld pending notification of his family.
