The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a landslide alert in four districts of Uttarakhand amid intense monsoon activity. With continuous moderate to heavy rainfall forecasted over the next 48–72 hours, authorities have placed Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, and Uttarkashi on high alert.

"Isolated to very heavy rainfall is expected in parts of Uttarakhand. The risk of landslides and flash floods is significantly high," – IMD Senior Official.

Satellite models show intensified cloud buildup in the Himalayan foothills and possible storm cells moving in from the east.
