Heavy monsoon rains have triggered massive devastation across Himachal Pradesh, with official reports confirming 51 deaths and 22 people still missing. The state is reeling under landslides, flash floods, and damaged infrastructure as continuous downpours batter the region.

🚨 Flash Floods, Collapsed Roads & Trapped Villages

Several rivers, including the Beas and Sutlej, are in spate, causing flash floods in low-lying areas.

National and state highways have been severely damaged or completely washed away.

Villages in Mandi, Kullu, and Chamba districts remain cut off due to road blockages and landslides.

Rescue efforts are hampered due to continuous rain and tough terrain.

🆘 Rescue Operations Underway

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and Indian Army have been deployed for relief and rescue efforts. Over 500 people have been evacuated from flood-prone areas.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said:

"We are working around the clock to rescue the missing and provide aid to affected families. The loss is unimaginable."

Hundreds of homes have either been damaged or submerged.

Power lines and telecom networks are severely disrupted in rural belts.

Estimated economic losses may run into hundreds of crores as damage assessments begin.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for continued heavy to very heavy rainfall across Himachal Pradesh for the next 48 hours. Citizens are advised to:
