Zomato’s Deepinder Goyal Tags Reddit Post ‘Utter Nonsense’, Denies Market Share Loss and Employee Issues
Zomato’s co-founder and CEO, Deepinder Goyal, has strongly refuted allegations circulating on Reddit that the food delivery giant is losing market share and mistreating its employees. Responding to a widely shared post, Goyal called the claims "utter nonsense" and emphasized that Zomato remains on a strong growth trajectory.
The viral Reddit post had accused Zomato of internal unrest and a declining customer base. However, Goyal dismissed these allegations outright, asserting that the company’s internal metrics and external performance reports tell a very different story.
"We are not losing market share. We are not forcing anyone to stay here against their will," Goyal stated on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). "Our people are here because they want to be, and we are proud of the culture we have built."
Zomato, which has been expanding its portfolio with ventures like Blinkit, continues to hold a significant share in India's competitive food delivery market alongside rivals like Swiggy. Goyal’s response highlights the company’s focus on transparency and its confidence in both business performance and employee satisfaction.
